This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Brett Watkins of Waterloo, Iowa, grew up believing that he would never truly be happy until he found the best recipe for each of his favorite dishes. This belief stemmed from early exposure to gas station food and a total misreading of Nick Jonas’ song, “Bacon”. The girl, Maggie Dougherty of Sioux City, Iowa, also shared this belief. Since having to fill out a survey about food before reading the rest of a local newspaper article, Maggie has loved two things. The first was her Crockpot she received for Christmas when she was 25. The second was how easily it transformed her into a gourmet chef.  Brett met up with Maggie one fateful Fall Monday and knew almost immediately what they must do next. He had filled out the same survey.

This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story.
